Trying MyWhoosh for the first time - Libre ba talaga?

MyWhoosh is the latest indoor cycling app, and it's free. It's a great alternative to Zwift, which is common here in the Philippines.

Established by CEO Akhtar Hashmi in 2019, this UAE-based company aims to introduce an alternative in the virtual cycling realm, emphasizing the legitimation of e-sports. MyWhoosh provides a comprehensive range of workouts and training programs, akin to its competitors, but with a distinct emphasis on e-sports racing.

While MyWhoosh is relatively new, it has officially earned the privilege of hosting the UCI Cycling Esports World Championships from 2024 to 2026, becoming the exclusive UCI Cycling Esports platform.

This means that all UCI-sanctioned E-racing events will use MyWhoosh. Another exciting feature of MyWhoosh is the cash prize for the race winner. Free and with a cash prize? Intriguing, right? Let's give it a try.

I encountered an issue installing MyWhoosh on my laptop due to insufficient space. With a requirement of at least 15 GB of free space, my PC didn't meet the criteria. As a workaround, I installed it on my iPhone. Here's a snapshot:

The initial challenge arose when the app didn't allow me to use both my P505 Spider-based power meter and my T600 indoor trainer as controllable simultaneously.

I had to choose between using the T600 as a power source and controllable or selecting the P505, neglecting the T600's controllable feature. I opted for the former.

I attempted the Alula Adventure loop, covering 31.4 kilometers with a total elevation of 332 meters. Despite my 1x road bike setup designed for flats, I managed to complete it. Here's the Zwift link.

Whoosh doesn't have a massive user base yet, but it's growing. Several pro teams in the Philippines have already shifted to Whoosh.

After uploading my workout on Strava, I noticed that the device type mentioned was incorrect.

For now, I'll continue using the app since it's free. I also plan to participate in races. Will they introduce charges in the future, or will they charge brands looking to sponsor or advertise on the platform? What are your thoughts?
